MGold: TiN coating for long-lasting performance
The Gold Mamba is based on our standard machine tap. A TiN coating – titanium nitride – provides a golden yellow hard coating on the thread flanks. It is applied using a PVD process, which ensures a particularly hard, uniform surface structure. With a hardness of up to 2700 HV and excellent sliding properties, TiN counteracts possible cold welding during thread tapping in the thread flanks. This significantly increases the service life of the tap, and you benefit from fewer tool changes, less downtime and reliable machining quality over longer periods.
